Nation Wide | Highly Trained | Unparalleled
At Ampnet, we strive to provide the latest in electrical products and services. We've listed our core services below with a full explanation. Please contact us if you require any assistance.
The fixed electrical installation is the electrical wiring, electrical machinery and electrical components that are fixed to a building. Installations include, for instance, fuse boxes, solar or generator installations, ceiling lights, power sockets, large items of machinery termination.
Ampnet Electrical will plan and design, select and install, commission, test, report, maintain, fault find and repair systems to a high standard. Work organization and self-management, communication and interpersonal skills, problem solving, flexibility and a deep body of knowledge are the universal attributes of our electricians.
Maintenance involves fixing any sort of electrical device should it become out of order or broken (known as repair, unscheduled, or casualty maintenance)
Electrical maintenance means the care and checklist of electrical equipment/instruments to avoid any breakdown or fault. To tighten all electrical connections, to upgrade the power rating of safety-switches is also a part of Electrical Maintenance.
Electrical maintenance services offered at all levels, industrial, commercial and residential. Below are indicators on what our work involves.
• Electrical Re-Wiring of houses, office blocks and industries.
• Fault Finding and repair of fault
• Repair of faulty lights, switches and plugs
• Electrical Appliances Repairs
• Tripping Switches
• Assist with Power Supply Issues
• General Electrical Related Repairs
• Connection of Hot Water Systems (Geyser etc)
• Electrical Reticulation
Ampnet Electrical provides premier electrical contracting and maintenance for public sectors and private customers in commercial, domestic and industrial markets throughout South Africa. We offer short and long term maintenance contracts.
Ampnet Electrical delivers sustainable energy solutions.
Solar power remains the most secure source of energy for the future. Solar power is the conversion of sunlight into electricity, either directly using photovoltaics (PV), or indirectly using concentrated solar power (CSP). Photovoltaics convert light into an electric current using the photovoltaic effect. PV were initially solely used as a source of electricity for small and medium sized applications, from the calculator power by a single solar cell to remote homes powered by an off-grid rooftop PV system. As the cost of solar electricity has fallen, the number of grid-connected solar PV systems has grown into the millions and utility scale solar power stations with hundreds of megawatts being built. Solar PV is rapidly becoming an inexpensive, low-carbon technology to harness renewable energy from the sun.
Our competent installers will gladly advise you on all solar technology matters, help you to choose the system that’s just right for you and after the installation will offer a comprehensive service.
Fault Finding is the investigation of the cause of malfunction in machinery, especially electronic equipment.
Standard / Fundamental Faults
The following is a concise list of typical faults that are the most common causes of a circuit ceasing to operate correctly:
• Loss of supply
• Earth fault
• Dead short
• Correct protective device in place
• Defective components
• Breakdown of control circuits
• Reversed polarity
• Initial faults on newly installed work
• Phase rotation
Power factor correction (PFC) is a newer technology used in computer power supplies. PFC is applied to the circuits that include induction motors as a means of reducing the inductive component of the current and thereby reduce the losses in the supply. PFC has no effect on the operation of the motor itself.
Power factor is the ratio between KW and the KVA drawn by and electrical load where the KW is the actual load power and the KVA is the apparent load power. Simply it is measure of how efficiently the load current is being converted into useful work output and more particularly is a good indicator of the effect of the load current on the efficiency of the supply system.
Before offering a solution to our customers, Ampnet Electrical takes the necessary electrical measurements of your network. This allows us to better understand your power consumption and power factor constraints and ensures that our offer is based on sound and accurate information. We also consider physical constraints when submitting a proposal.
We minimise downtime incurred as a result of the installation of our equipment, through careful planning and consultation with our customers. After the required hardware is installed, you will notice an immediate improvement in power factor, a more efficient use of your available electrical power and of course monthly savings in your electricity bills.
Energy Saving Projects.
Reducing your home energy use is the best of win-win deals - not only does it reduce your carbon footprint, it also saves you money on energy bills. That’s especially exciting when you consider that many home and business energy improvements are fast, easy and inexpensive.

An electric generator is a device that converts mechanical energy obtained from an external source into electrical energy as the output. Generators are useful appliances that supply electrical power during a power outage and prevent discontinuity of daily activities or disruption of business operations. Generators are available in different electrical and physical configurations for use in different applications.
Our competent installers will gladly advise you on all generator technology matters, help you to choose the system that’s just right for you and after installation will offer you comprehensive service.
COMPLETE GENERATOR SOLUTIONS:
• Generator sales
• Change over panels
• Generator services
• Generator re-fuels
